Don’t Miss Our Cancer Survivors Week Celebration!!

Monday, June 5th – Friday, June 10th – Join us all week as we celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day! We will host a fun activity each day this week. Activities include medical panels, a cooking class, a baseball game & more. Register once to receive emails for the full week of activities! Find additional details and schedule here!
All survivors will receive a goodie bag with supplies to do a survivor art project (BIG Thanks to Sawtooth for sponsoring the art!), as well as other fun wellness items. We hope to see you there!!

Nature Therapy
Thursdays, June 2nd at 12 pm – Join us IRL (In Real Life!) as Sawtooth School leads us through a nature walk and art activity at Reynolda Gardens. During this session, we will explore the Japanese practice of “Forest Bathing.” Unfamiliar with this? Check out our article here! All participants will receive their own sketchbooks and learn nature drawing techniques. *To protect our immunocompromised clients, we ask participants to wear a mask while indoors.
Eat the Rainbow – Summer Edition
Begins June 13th – A 12-week series designed to help you understand the facts and myths about fruits and vegetables and why they are important for cancer survivors. This challenge aims to help you increase your fruit and vegetable intake. Find additional info here!
Art & Wellness
Thursday, June 23rd at 2 pm – A wellness group focused on healing through art in partnership with the Sawtooth School for Visual Arts. Supplies will be available for pick up at Cancer Services one week prior to the class. *Note: We will use the same supplies from this event in our art project for Survivors Week.

- Attitude of Gratitude – Begins Tuesday, July 11th. Foster a habit of gratitude in your life in order to enhance your well-being during and after cancer treatments. This program is open to survivors as well as caregivers.
- Art & Wellness IRL (In Real Life) – Friday, July 22nd at 6 pm. Join us as Sawtooth leads a lesson in ceramics.
- Art & Wellness – Thursday, July 28th at 2 pm. Supplies will be available for pickup at our office one week prior to class.

Highlights for June Programs at Hirsch Wellness include:
- Textile Designer Jacqui Mehring leads “Embroaidered Botanicals.” Participants will create delicate works of art sewing dainty stitches onto fragile leaves, celebrating what can be done when we are gentle and act with care.
- Writer, author and Hirsch instructor, Molly Haile will teach a “Writing to Heal” workshop.
- Yoga Instructor Terry Brown will offer practices to release the tension in the back, neck, and shoulders.
