Hello Valentine!

This month, we have several updates you don’t want to miss!

RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT!

Lindy Milligan, Cancer Services’ Survivorship Coordinator and Pink Broomstick Program Coordinator is retiring as of February 4th, 2025. Over the last 14 years, Lindy has provided over 75 Transitions classes to more than 200 participants, in addition to spending over 2,000 hours providing individual support to people facing cancer in our community. And we can’t even count the number of pink broomsticks and pink pillows that have gone out during Lindy’s tenure!

While Lindy’s presence will be missed at Cancer Services, we wish her many years of fun with friends, family and her precious grandkids!

If you would like to send your words of gratitude and congratulations to Lindy, we are collecting them via this form!

Lindy, you will be missed!! <3

FEBRUARY & MARCH HIGHLIGHTS

In February, join Cook to Thrive, the Cancer Dietitian’s Cooking Class on the 27th at 12pm. Once you’ve had lunch with Julie, you can head over to the next class: Art and Wellness with Sawtooth School at 2pm! Isn’t that awesome?

To wrap up February, we have a special speaker on Men’s Health at our FellowShip Group! Dr. Schwabe from Novant Urology will join to share important information about men’s health and to answer your questions. This is open to any men facing cancer (either as a patient, or as a caregiver). Help us spread the word!

In March, our Gastrointestinal Cancer Survivor Conference will be on Tuesday, March 18th, thanks to a grant from Get Your Rear in Gear Winston Salem. We also have a brand new survivorship fitness program called Get Real & Heel that starts March 19th, thanks to a partnership with UNC Lineberger Cancer Center and the Duke Endowment. If you’d like to be considered for participation in this program, let Julie know! She can be reached at 336-760-3294 or julie@cancerservicesonline.org.

Have a beautiful Valentine’s Day with your loved ones!
