Utilizing the skills and knowledge of a Chef trained in healthy food preparation techniques and a Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition, Cancer Services is hosting a a 4 part cooking workshop (4 parts in one day)!
Goals of the session include:
- Improved knowledge about what nutritious eating is
- Improved confidence that cooking doesn’t have to be scary or intimidating
- Learn techniques of cooking
- Be introduced to new foods and how to prepare them
- Learn how to plan a well balanced meal to meet nutrient needs
We will cover the following:
- Part 1: Seasonal Eating
- Part 2: Healthified Comfort Foods
- Part 3: Easy Entrees
- Part 4: Tasty Desserts
We have availability for 20 cancer survivors and/or their caregiver to attend this innovative session!
Meals and snacks will be provided as part of the workshop. For each part of the workshop, participants will be encouraged to try one of the demonstrated recipes. Ingredients for these featured recipes will be sent home with participants!
FEE: There is no charge to participants, thanks to the generous support of Athena’s Run and The GYN Fund of the Novant Health Foundation.
LOCATION: This workshop will take place in the Murphy Conference Room at Novant Cancer Center, located at 1010 Bethesda Ct, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
