This June, we are taking a step back to see what is most important to us: our loved ones, community, and, most importantly, ourselves!

Choose One (or All) of our June Challenges!

  1. Read Dara’s June Empowered Living article about “Taking Charge of your Time”!
  2. Attend our Survivors Day Party, on Saturday, June 6th at 12pm at the Intergenerational Center of Arts and Wellness or any other Survivors-Day Weekend event!
  3. Create a Stitched Button Pouch with the June Art & Wellness workshop (virtual or in person at Cancer Services, Inc. office).
  4. Join Cook to Thrive with Julie, The Cancer Dietitian, and discover nourishing protein-rich recipes.
  5. Register and complete your assessment for the Get Real & Heel functional fitness program!

Hosted at the Intergenerational Center for Arts & Wellness. We will provide wellness activities, treatment resources and survivorship information, all at no charge! Just sign up on our June registration page.

An 18 week funcional fitness program meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays at The Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness from 5:30PM – 6:30PM.

TOPIC: Nourishing Protein Rich Recipes

Do you want some ideas for delicious and nutritious recipes that won’t take you all day to make? Join Julie, The Cancer Dietitian for this season’s cooking demonstration! 

Art and Wellness

Thursday, June 25th at 2pm

Topic: Stitched Button Pouch (supplies distributed to all attendees at Survivors Day!)

Join Sawtooth School for Visual Arts for a monthly wellness group with a focus on art. The group will be virtual AND in-person.

10 Minute Play Festival

Survivors Day weekend includes a special treat this year. For a limited time, Cancer Services is gifting cancer survivors ONE ticket to attend the 10 Minute Play Festival, performed by 40+ Stage Company, a local W-S nonprofit! They will perform six, 10 minute plays written by North Carolina playwrights, on the theme of “survival”.

Friday Survivorship Conference

Ready, Set, Go! Navigating Your Cancer Journey Conference will be held on Friday, June 5th, 2026 from 8:15 am to 4:15 pm at the Intergenerational Center of Arts and Wellness. This is a free, patient-led conference designed to unite the voices of patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, doctors, and advocates. There will be complimentary breakfast and lunch for all participants.

Hirsch Wellness Network

Hirsch Wellness, located in Greensboro NC offers therapeutic arts and wellness programs to support the emotional and physical needs of cancer survivors, patients in treatment, and caregivers at no cost!

Hirsch offers:

Yoga classes with Triad Yoga, both in person and via Zoom. 

Virtual Meditation classes with Ash Poirier.

Taiji Qigong on Mondays, both in person and via Zoom.

Online chair Qigong class with Bill.
