Cancer Services is excited to announce our Inaugural Memorial Chair of the Pink Ribbon Talks breast cancer conference – Betty Baker!
Betty was a 29-Year breast cancer survivor, an active Pink Broomstick volunteer for almost 2 decades, and served on Cancer Services Board of Directors for 6 years. We are honored to celebrate Betty and the inspiration she provided to so many along her journey!!
” Volunteering for Cancer Services has been very rewarding for me since I feel it necessary to share what I have learned and hopefully help ease the fears that each woman faces when they are diagnosed. Everyone has a different method of coping with an illness and it has been beneficial to me in my healing process to try to help someone else who is experiencing the same situation.”

“What I remember most about Betty is her smile! No matter how poorly she felt she was always smiling, gracious and kind. She is the perfect Memorial Chair of the Pink Ribbon Talks.”

“The community of breast cancer patients, survivors, and providers owes a debt of gratitude to Betty Baker and her family for her devotion and dedication to the Pink Broomsticks program, which is one of the oldest and most impactful services sponsored by Cancer Services. Through her volunteer work with this program she walked the breast cancer journey side by side with newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, and touched the lives of so many people. I think it is fair to say that as long as this program continues, that Betty will always be remembered with great fondness and appreciation.”
